Moving a Trapped Sturgeon

A trout fisherman came across a 7 foot white sturgeon trapped in an irrigation canal below Milner Dam in Jerome County. Shortly after finding the fish, he reported its location to Fish and Game so that it could be moved to more suitable sturgeon habitat. Fish and Game fisheries biologists and conservation officers with the Magic Valley Region mobilized to catch the trapped sturgeon and relocate it to Lake Walcott in Minidoka County. TT/2022
