Repairing a rocket stove heated hot water system
This heater has a particular safety feature; it's a double boiler. Water in the buffer tank is heated directly by a Rocket Stove and is open to ambient pressure. The water you shower with is pressurized (gravity in this case) and runs through copper coils, taking heat from the buffer water. The pressurized water in the coils has a higher boiling temperature than the buffer tank and can never cause a steam explosion, even if the buffer water boils away.
