Kadee Coupler Conversion on Rivarossi NYC Heavyweight Passenger Car - March 09, 2016

In this video I will take you through the process of changing an "okay" coupler to the best coupler made today ... those made by Kadee. It's an involved process, but I hope this video will be of help to those of you, wanting to upgrade some of your rolling stock. Kadee makes two types of coupler conversion kits for passenger car rolling stock ... the 505 and the 508. The 505 kit is used for Rivarossi, AHM, IHC, etc, that have 6-wheel trucks; while the 508 kit is used for those passenger cars that have 4-wheel trucks. It will also be determined by the modeler, if they have trucks requiring long or short bolster conversion kits ... the 505 having long bolsters, and the 508 having the shorter bolsters.. Confused? So was I, until I started to employ these conversion kits. Then - except for the time involved - it became a really quite straightforward process! In fact, making the video made the process take longer than it actually is in "real time"!
