On 18 May, 2017, the Mexican Navy Tall Ship “Cuauhtémoc”, affiliated to the Ministry of the Navy of Mexico, began their training cruise sailing from its home port of Acapulco, Guerrero. The ship Cuauhtémoc was built in the shipyards of Bilbao, Spain in 1982 and throughout its history has sailed the seas of the world.

The training ship Cuauhtémoc has 253 crew members, which is composed of eight captains, 40 officers, nine guest officers, 74 cadets and 123 classes and navy elements. It is counted as an integral part of the crew, with 22 women, including four officers, two guest officers, 11 cadets of the Heroic Military Naval School and five are Class and Seamanship, all having the distinguished and noble task of representing Mexico aboard the “Ambassador and Knight of the Seas”, transmitting a message of friendship and goodwill.
