Croatian and Hungarian leaders on migrant crisis

(7 Oct 2015) Hungary's president has renewed his country's call for the creation of global quotas to take in some of the thousands of migrants and refugees entering the European Union every day.
President Janos Ader said on Wednesday that "just like the European Union is capable of taking in refugees, the United States, Canada or even China are secure countries and therefore suited for taking in refugees."
Ader, speaking after a meeting with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, stated that the United States had "taken in 1,500 Syrian refugees so far."
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and other officials have also called for non-European countries to accept their share of refugees.
This year more than 324,000 migrants and refugees entered Hungary, which has built fences on its southern borders with Serbia and Croatia in an attempt to control their flow.
