Carving a Bowl From End Grain - Part One

I decided to try a new method of bowl carving from the end grain.
This is not something I would usually do due to the risk of cracking and checking but thought i would give it a try regardless.

In this part I try using my carving bench, not a great idea with a round blank, and make a good start on hollowing the bowl.

Part two will cover shaping the putside of the bowl with an axe whilst keeping my fingers crossed that it wont split.
