The ESP8266 Module is a System on a Chip giving the same functionality as an Arduino board on a very small chip module including WiFi capability. You can easily join it to your network and programme it to send data to web pages and enable an IoT devices.
It's ideal for embedding in projects, bringing low cost and low power to them as well as taking up very little space. In this video I show how to connect up one of these modules so it is ready to use as a programmable WiFi board and also show how to set it up so that it's ready for programming via USB.
