Charlotte man accused of killing woman in 2023 in court

A man accused in the death of his girlfriend is back in court today, nearly two years after his arrest in a case that drew widespread attention across the Charlotte region.

James Dunmore is scheduled to appear before a judge in connection with the death of Alisha Watts.

Dunmore was charged with murder in 2023 after Watts disappeared following a trip to Charlotte to visit him. Investigators say Watts had traveled to the area to spend time with Dunmore, and the two were reportedly set to attend a comedy show in Charlotte when she was last seen.
