The Ebola outbreak in the DR Congo and Uganda has claimed more than 200 lives within its first month, making it the deadliest outbreak at this stage on record. According to the Africa CDC, 894 cases have been confirmed so far, with authorities tracking up to 35,000 potential contacts. Health officials warn the outbreak is already significantly worse than Uganda’s 2000 epidemic, raising concerns over further regional spread.
