Camp NaNo Day 2 was only 239 words but I’m dang proud of myself!

I almost didn’t write at all because of a migraine but it thankfully eased up toward the end of the day. I’m glad I’m taking some “novel time” off to get to know my characters better. Every word I’ve written toward the story somehow feels empty because there’s no clear character voice.

I realized I didn’t add any back story here about how long I’ve been working on this book—almost 3 years! I think I’ve written about 10k words total, but most of those will be scratched.

I’m happy I’m stepping back to my story and I’m celebrating that 🎉 Any progress is worth being excited over. This book has taken me so much longer to even draft than I ever thought it would but I’m moving forward with baby steps!

I won’t ever get to Brandon Sanderson Prolific Status, so I’m learning to be happy and excited over these tiny steps.
