What garages don't want you to know: Toyota Wheel Bearing Change

Mechanics and Garages don't want you to know that it is easy to change your Toyota rear wheel bearings, something they charge up to $500 per wheel.

It is a relatively easy job assuming you can get the bolts undone that hold the wheel bearing unit in place. Use lots of free oil on the bolts before you get started as they get very rusty. The wheel bearings cost around 100 euros / 100 USD and the job takes about 1 hour per wheel. Torq the bolts to 65 nM when you put them back on.
