Since the Israeli army launched a military operation against Rafah on the evening of May 6, the humanitarian disaster there has escalated again. In addition to the large number of people fleeing and casualties caused by the Israeli military operation, the capture of the Rafah crossing has disrupted the delivery of humanitarian aid and caused the medical system in Rafah to run out of medicine and supplies. Rafah's last hospital with 24-hour service, Kuwait Specialty Hospital, is in danger of shutting down. CGTN Stringer interviewed medical staff and a patient's family at the hospital in Rafah to ascertain how the hospital is running and coping with insufficient fuel and supplies.
