Lightnings scramble

To celebrate FlyPast's Cold War special issue, we present some superb video footage of the Bruntingthorpe-based Lightning Preservation Group in action.
The LPG has a pair of the English Electric fighters that are still very much in 'live' condition and the team has announced some of its event dates for 2015. Its English Electric Lightning F.6 XR728 will be re-dedicated to the memory of Air Cdre John Spencer during the QRA Day this summer, and 2015 will also mark that particular aircraft's 50th birthday.
