Mark Palmer, 1986
This video is a good cold war piece about talks between the United States and the Soviet Union. According to this interview of Mark Palmer in 1986, the United States and Soviet Uniion were in the process of ending the Cold War. Mr. Palmer did not say that directly but the fact that both sides are talking about major nuclear arms reduction was on the table. Ideas on the table was top priority to prevent war. Then there is reducing strategic nuclear weapons, banning intermediate range weapons, and ending regional wars. Other talks were about freedom of travel, immigration into the USSR, exchange of young people, and trade. There was mentioning terrorism, Middle East conflict, Chernobyl Accident, and Star Wars. Difficulty of creating a summit about nuclear weapons was mentioned as well. The last 40 seconds was cut off because of uploading issues. I do apologies about that. This video is in the Public Domain. The Master Copy can be found at the National Archives and Records Administration, Room 4000, 8601 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville, MD 20740-6001. The Archival Retrieval Catalog (ARC) number is: 55980
