Stucco finishing helpful tips, How thick can stucco finishes be applied.
Stucco finishing secrets, it’s only secret as even professional plasterers don’t know it can be done.
I’m talking about applying a finish coat more than an eighth of an inch thick and knowing how to stop that thickness from cracking and or spider cracking like an egg.
For those who have no clue as to what “Spider Cracking is?” finish coats are supposed to only be a one-eighth inch thick, or they crack the big time.
If one applies it as thick as I did in this video, we open the applied finish with a sponge float, and this allows the finish coat to breathe so that when it does set, it does not spider crack.
Things that make you go hmmm.
This video below at the end shows what I’m talking about, spider cracking or checking.

The advantages/benefits of spreading a stucco finish coat color. They are fifty times thicker than paint,
This is why stucco medium or heavy sand finishes cover and hide imperfections in existing stucco finishes and why painting enhances these flaws.
