Sooooo I had an interesting time with this map. I downloaded it because I love original Sound of Silence, and this cover is awesome. Also Undeceiver has been so helpful when I post questions about my own maps on the BSMG Discord, so I wanted to try one of his maps. It’s way slower than I’m used to but the song is slow so what can you expect?

I’ll be honest, at first I did not like the map. It’s got unusual patterns and the parity is basically non-existent towards the end. I struggled with accuracy because of the (normal) slow speed, and for the longest time could not play it with disappearing arrows because I had no idea what was coming up and the song is slow enough that it actually matters.

But for some reason I kept coming back to it. And the more I played it the more I understood what was unique about it. Once you figure out the big patterns it feels powerful. As I learned it, I basically MADE my own parity…you’ll see in the body cam that it the motions looks smooth and flowing. I completed the run normally and thought there was no way I could learn it well enough do it again with disappearing arrows, but I just couldn’t leave it alone. So I popped on DA and kept trying, and eventually got it (I actually did it twice, because the first time the audio cut out briefly in the middle and ruined my recording, so I had to do it again).

So I thought ok this is it, there’s so way I can do those big patterns at faster speed, especially the double 4 across ending. Buuuut, again I just couldn’t leave this one alone. So I dove in again and kept grinding until I got this run. I love how it turned out. This map is a bit of a slow burn, but if you play custom maps I’d encourage you to try it. Make it your own…find the parity and it’ll make it a dance.
