The Delhi Police turned the three major farmers' protest sites -- Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur into fortresses with multi-layer barricades and heavy security deployment. Roads were cemented with a bed of nails, concrete walls were erected between barriers, multi-layer barricading, and lines upon lines of police personnel were placed at the conflict zones of the national capital of India. The move came days after the violent clashes between some protesters and police on January 26 during the tractor parade by the agitating farmers.
Today in Rajya Sabha, Congress MP Pratap Singh Bajwa said that the barricades at the Ghazipur border of the national capital look like the Berlin wall. Pratap Singh Bajwa also demanded the sitting judge of the Supreme Court to launch a time-bound investigation to ascertain who were the forces who misled farmers to deviate from the pre-decided route and reach the ITO and Red Fort.
