On April 3, India witnessed history as the longest Rajya Sabha session took place, lasting 17 hours and stretching over two days.

The session was held over the highly controversial Waqf Bill. The bill was passed with 128 members voting in favour and 95 opposing it.

The Waqf Bill, which had been under discussion for over six months, aims to prevent favouritism and the misuse of Waqf properties.

Though the NDA claims that the law is intended to help Muslims, there have been numerous violent and non-violent protests across the country over it.
