I give you my TOEFL independent writing template that helped me score 30/30 in TOEFL Writing. Using a template is amazing because it provides you with a great variety of vocabulary, it gives your essay structure and it saves you a lot of time in the TOEFL test. INTRODUCTION

1) Hook

What is a hook?
The hook is a sentence that introduces the topic of the essay and catches the reader's attention.

How do you write a hook?
The hook is pretty much freestyle. First, have a look at the prompt. The prompt tells you what your TOEFL essay is about. Then, think about how you can rephrase the prompt and make it sound interesting. Do not copy the prompt! If you want a high TOEFL independent writing score, you must express the information given in the prompt in your own words.

2) Thesis

What is a thesis?
The thesis is your direct answer to the question.

You must start your thesis in a particular way depending on the question type. It is important that you recognize the question type and start your sentence appropriately because only then can you answer the question correctly and get a high score for TOEFL independent writing. A writing template helps you find a correct answer for each question type. I would recommend memorizing this template so that you do not have to think about how to answer this question when you are doing the TOEFL independent writing task. In the video I tell you how to answer each question type correctly.

3) Transition

What is a transition?
The transition is a sentence that leads the reader from the introduction to your body paragraphs. Think of it as a bridge. It tells the reader that you will provide reasons to support your thesis. You can always use the same sentence when writing your transition in the TOEFL independent writing task. Memorizing the independent writing template really pays off here because you will know this sentence when you write your independent essay and thus you will not waste time.

BODY

To make your body convincing you must use a specific structure. Good news: you can always use the same structure regardless of the question. This means that if you memorize the TOEFL independent writing template you can use it for every question type. In the body you need to provide reasons for your thesis: you need to show why you think this way. After providing a reason you need to explain this reason. Then you need to back up your reason by giving an example. For instance, this can be an example from your personal experience. Use one paragraph for each reason that you provide. For instance, if you give two reasons for your thesis, write two paragraphs: each paragraph contains a reason, an explanation, and an example.

When I started studying for the TOEFL I found it particularly difficult to explain my reason well. I simply did not know what to write. Then I figured out how to find ideas: using transitions (they are also called linking words) that trigger ideas. In the video I give you these transitions for your explanation of your reasons for each body paragraph. The idea behind these is that they belong to different categories and help you develop your ideas. This way you use fantastic sentence starters and get ideas for your TOEFL essay. Thus, memorizing the TOEFL independent writing template does not only help you using amazing English words, but also helps you finding ideas to make your independent essay a success.

CONCLUSION

In the conclusion of the independent writing task you must restate your thesis and your reasons. Do not forget to rephrase everything. The conclusion is your final chance to convince ETS that you deserve a high score in the TOEFL independent writing task.
