How to Read Union Pacific Railroad Signals (Part 1)

In this special production by The Central Texas Railfan, we will learn the basics of reading Union Pacific railroad signals!

This video will teach you the basics of reading railroad signals. Though it is tailored for Union Pacific, many of the indications apply to other railroads, such as BNSF, NS, and CSX. This is only part 1; more advanced signals and signal layouts will be covered in Part 2. Enjoy the video!

FAQ:
Q: Why are signal clips in the video located on other railroads that aren't UP?
A: Many signal indications are interchangeable. Temple, TX is where many signals in this video are located, all are on BNSF. Temple is the only area near me where one can regularly see diverging signal indications.

Q: When will Part 2 be released?
A: My goal is Saturday, August 23rd.

FAQ stands for Fully Anticipated Questions.
