Justin Moore Acoustic Performance for NYC's First Responders!

On August 1, 2019, New York’s Country 94.7 had its first-ever 'First Responder Appreciation Party' and performance. The performance space was packed without a single seat open for this special event that not only celebrated Moore’s new and impressive music, but the incredible men and women that are first responders in the Tri-state area. Many were able to join the station to meet Justin Moore himself, take photos with him and enjoy an intimate acoustic performance.

NY Country's Katie Neal opened the event by speaking with Moore about his new album, Late Nights and Longnecks, and chatting about his family life. The "Why We Drink" singer made sure to mention that his daughters were raiding the city’s American Girl store as his performance was occurring and that he was jokingly going to need to get back into the studio to record more albums in order to cover the cost. Before picking up his guitar and addressing the audience, first responders were able to get to know him on a more personal level and hear about his connection to them in-person.

Moore played a short set that included some of his most popular songs out right now. After giving a brief summary about each one and his songwriting process, he made sure to give his full attention to each track he was performing along with his accompanying musicians. The audience was even able to enjoy a new sentimental track from Moore off of his new album titled "That’s My Boy." The song is about his young son named South and Moore’s aspirations for him. Prior to performing this song, he spoke about having three daughters and welcoming his son into the family just a few years ago. Now, of course, he revealed that his daughters are wondering when they will each have a song dedicated to each of them as well.

The acoustic set concluded with Moore’s current hit "The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home." This particular track is an emotional and touching one that focuses on remembering first responders who unfortunately did not make it back to their families and also supporting those who are serving our country currently. The conclusion of Moore’s set was genuine, moving and full of appreciation for all of the first responders both in front of him and all around the country. He made sure to give them a special shoutout after his set and spoke with each and every person that came out to our performance stage afterward.

This first event was beyond memorable for us and the fans, and Justin made sure that everyone left feeling recognized, and still singing his songs on the way home!
