Dave Rubin on why ‘The Marvels’ flopped at the box office

The Rubin Report host Dave Rubin has discussed why Marvel’s latest superhero movie is the company’s biggest flop of all time.

'The Marvels' movie only racked up US$63 million internationally in its opening weekend making it the lowest in the franchise’s history.

“What’s unfortunately happened with the Marvel movies is they’ve pushed all the wokeism in, they pushed mostly gender stuff, but they’ve done a little bit of the race stuff as well,” Mr Rubin told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“And then people over time are just like 'oh this isn’t why I’m going to the movies, I’m here to be entertained and I love the big explosions, not to be ... taught a lesson'.

“So, I’m not surprised by this at all.

“They're in a situation where they’ve made 30 plus or maybe even 40 plus of these movies and they're just running out of ideas.”
