The LOOK of DUNE - Digital to Film to Digital

A lot of filmmakers like the film look. Some shoot film while others create the look in camera or in post. For the movie DUNE they went with a hybrid process. This involved being shot on digital, transferred to 35mm, then scanned back to digital. It's an interesting approach that I'll cover, but more importantly I'll discuss why the filmmakers decided to undergo this lengthy process to create the look for DUNE.
