The Hollywood Walk of Fame is the world's most famous sidewalk, but it wasn't always this way. You may be surprised to learn that the Hollywood Walk wasn't designed until the 1950s, and the first Hollywood icon to be immortalized in this fashion was Joanne Woodward, who is still alive today (at the time of this video published).

The groundbreaking ceremony occurred on February 9, 1960, and 1,500 stars were added over the next 16 months.

Today, more than 2,500 stars make up the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and they're adding more all the time. You can visit today to find your favorite celebrity names. However, you should know about the “Only Star” you can't step on at the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
