Pennsylvania Teen Dies from Bacterial Meningitis: School District

A 18-year-old high school student from Pennsylvania passed away due to Streptococcus Pneumoniae Meningitis. The school district confirms the tragedy and assures parents that the meningitis strain is not contagious in a school setting. Bacterial meningitis, which can lead to death within hours if untreated, is spread through droplets from coughing, sneezing, or talking. Symptoms include severe headaches, high fevers, excessive vomiting, stiff neck, and confusion. The CDC recommends vaccination as the best prevention method.
