Testing Wireless Passport Printing On Canon CP1200

Let's see if this method is any faster or easier than the SD card printing which takes about 58 seconds to print.

So let’s run through wireless printing from the camera. Pressing the WIFI button shows the wifi printer, pressing SET will start the link. Once linked the printer’s LCD screen changes to white showing the link.

Press SET to access the left print menu and then left on the round cursor control.

Scroll up to Cropping & select it.

Press SET to change to landscape. Then use the zoom control on top to include the shoulders and some white space above the head. Press MENU then press SET to ok the change.

Scroll down to select print, press SET to start the printing process.

From start to final print, it’s just over 2 minutes. But wait… we’re not done yet.

Wireless printing does not crop to the 2x2 inch size, so we need to do it manually.

Scrap from a passport cutter makes it easier to see where we need to trim.

Lastly, center the head in the cutter with some white on top.

The SD card printing method produces cropped 2x2 US sized photos for super quick cutting and needs no in camera editing.

So wireless printing can be done, but it’s twice as long as the SD card method, requires in camera editing and manual cropping for the final cut. No convenience there in our opinion.
