Singapore did poorly in the area of Inactivity (Exercises) in the recent Global Wellness Index published by investment firm LetterOne. I recommend one exercise you can take.

If you want to burn calories, go for a brisk walk at MacRitchie Reservoir’s boardwalk starting with Prunus Trail leading to Petai Trail and then turn back for the return journey. (see map)

Total distance of Prunus + Petai trails on return journeys = 4.5 kilometres. It took about one hour to cover the distance. We liked the morning walk starting 8.30 am or 9 am.

If you are targeting 10,000 steps each day, this walk will do starting from home to MacRitchie Reservoir and then back home.

This was our second week walking this route. We used to do this often in the past until the trails were closed off for renovation. The old wooden boardwalk had been replaced with anti-slip material and it was more comfortable walking this boardwalk.

The reservoir view and the edge of forest walk made it more enticing. This is as natural as you can get breathing the cool air in the forest and hearing the sounds of the forest.

We are not the only ones who do this walk. You could find tourists and local residents doing likewise. We know better.
