20th Anniversary Concert - Ballina
As part of the Choir's 20th Anniversary celebrations, Rejoice Gospel Choir Ballina perform "Joyful Joyful" at their 20th Anniversary Concert in the Twin Tree Hotel, Ballina on Friday 18 october 2019.
This special version welcomed back to stage a host of previous choir members and was directed by Lavinia Gilmartin the Choir's founding Musical Director.
The song is based on both Henry van Dyke's poem "The Hymn of Joy" and the famous "Ode to Joy" melody of the final movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's final symphony, Symphony No. 9. It is often remembered from Sister Act 2, the film.
