Woodturning - Making a Calabash Bowl From Spalted Ash Wood

I haven't put a video up in almost a month, but now that the holidays are over and my to-do list is becoming manageable, I hope to get back to weekly (or closer to weekly) videos. Let me know if there is a particular project you'd like to see or maybe a subject you'd like me to cover or questions I can answer. This bowl is from my neighbor's ash tree that had to come down a few years ago. I received the six foot tall trunk of it and let it sit in my backyard for about 3-4 years (I'm not a big fan of ash wood). In that time, it spalted and began to deteriorate, but I was able to get a handful of decent blanks when I finally cut it up several months ago. This project is pretty straightforward; almost all of the turning is done with a bowl gouge and it's finished with Danish oil. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments!
