Dynamic control is so important for musicians. I see so many beginners smashing each note down with no feel whatsoever. Using dynamic control you can change the volume and tone and give so much more expression and feel to any given song.

A good way to practice this is to take something you already know fairly well, and just play it whilst exaggerating the dynamics. This will help you practice playing very loudly and very quietly... and more importantly, being able to switch smoothly between the two.
