Vloggers Not Welcome at this Indian Tourist Spot. 🇮🇳

A short boat trip from Mumbai is Elephanta Island, also known as Gharapuri. I traveled there to visit the Elephanta Caves which were carved out of the rock by Hindus in the 7th century.

The inside of the main cave contains sculptures carved into the walls. The only problem is that you can't film them. Well, you can, you're just not allowed to. I've never let some ridiculous rules get in the way of my videos in the past so I wasn't going to this time either.

The biggest problem I've had in India is being able to find an honest guide at this type of place. There have been many occasions where I've just decided to go without a guide because I know the likelihood is that they are just going to spend the whole time trying to hustle money out of me.

At the Elephanta Caves I thought the sculptures were impressive but had no clue what I was looking at really. I asked some friendly Indian locals who were helpful and then a guide approached me. I decided to give him a chance. Was he an honest guide or a scammer?

Price for the return boat trip was 205 rupees and entrance to the caves was 600 rupees (foreigners must pay 15 times the price of locals, who pay 40 rupees.)
