Sicily has been hit by torrential rain and river overflows, leaving 12 people dead and more than a 100 people displaced.

Rainfalls have continued across Calabria, Puglia and Veneto, accompanied by lightning and strong gusts of wind (up to 190 km/h).

Italian Red Cross staff and volunteers are assisting in search and rescue, evacuations, first aid, and psychological support services.
