Australian Independence: From Colony to Country

Australian independence was a gradual affair. In this video we explore this affair and pull apart some of the driving forces behind the nucleation which culminated in the initiation of the modern day Australian State.
I would say Australian Independence came about through a series of phases:

1.) European discovery and cross-geographic segregation of the continent into discrete political bodies.

2.) Regional agglomeration of colonies, such as New South Wales and Tasmania, into a broader political entity.

3.) Cultural evolution as a result of the formation of said broader political entity. Said political identity is nested in the British Empire's imperial identity and coincides with it.

4.) Development of a distinct Australian identity that was outside the imperial domain as a result of world war 2 and it's geo-political realities.
