Amanda Howland, the co-founder of the "Pets In Need Project," a mobile pet relief traveling to homeless areas throughout California to provide FREE veterinary services, food, etc. to homeless pets and street pets, who are vulnerable in reaction to COVID-19 for guest consideration.

Since Mid-May this relief effort has Amanda, and her partner Christian, spending 8-weeks living in an RV traveling through COVID-19, riots, civil unrest and peaceful protests, and unrelenting heat to some of the poorest counties and communities such as Los Angeles's Skid Row and San Francisco's Tenderloin District to help improve the lives of the homeless pet population.

Together with the help of some very generous Veterinarians, they have already treated more than 900 pets (to date), saved the lives of very sick animals, personally funded emergency surgeries and facilitated some adoptions.

They talked to thousands of homeless, listened to their stories, talked about their love for their pets, and learned the challenges of veterinary street medicine. They talked to people hard hit by COVID-19 who chose to be on the street because their pets were not allowed in shelters, and people who sacrificed their own food so their pets could eat.
