Making a friction folding knife with Damasteel blade and scales

This is what 6 years of knife making has lead me to: The Ensis friction folder. I've been carrying an Ensis for over a year, but never got to making the movie. So I decided to go all fancy with Damasteel blade and scales, jeweled titanium frames and a nice blue anodizing finish.

The model is a friction folder. This means that there is an open and a closed position, but there is no lock to keep it open or closed. I find this helpful for winter canoeing, where I wear thick neoprene gloves in winter. A friction folder might be the only lock design that can be opened and closed with gloves.

There are many clips that show how I make the friction folder mechanism. I hope you liked the video!
