Warframe - Excalibur Umbra "Personal Space" (Defensive focused build using Null Star + Augment)
Hello everyone, I hope you have been doing well. I've been busy with work (and doing it from home at that) so I haven't been around as much, my apologies. That being said, lets get to it.
With Covid-19 still going on world (particularly in the US where I'm from), I present a build that demonstrates the importance of social distancing. Seriously though, this is a pretty strong build for staying alive.
The Helminth system has allowed a number of interesting builds to be utilized in different ways, but one ability I see rarely used is Null Star. Null Star allows players to gain 5% damage reduction for every active particle currently in effect. The amount of particles is based on ability duration, but one of the biggest issues people face is keeping them particles from attacking enemies. High duration builds, especially those that utilize a maxed Narrow Minded, are often a solution to this, but this still creates the issue that it can essentially "prevent" fighting up close with melee since even with increased range, most attacks still need to be pretty closer and will cause the particles to attack, resulting in a loss of defensive power. This also tends to cause issues with other abilities as well as the loss in Range often makes a number of abilities far less effective or even useless.
However, for those that utilize ranged attacks, this is a non issue since enemies typically never get close enough to you. This is especially true for Excalibur and his variants since Exalted Blade's waves can hit enemies from a pretty good distance away. Utilizing this, you can stay extremely durable while firing of shots from a respectable distance. Utilizing status tagging through weapons, pets, and abilities grants adequate damage amplification for even the toughest enemies. I'm a huge fan of the Helstrum in recent times as it is an excellent passive tagging instrument, often fully stacking Viral which allows for huge damage, but also a sleeper hit the Furis.
A lot may wonder why the Furis and that is simple: it is one of the best utility weapons in the game. It's not the best status tagging weapon, a number can do it faster on more enemies, but the Furis can use Winds of Purity, which grants Life Steal on hit for you and your pet. It also is a solid candidate for Energizing Shot, which allows you to shoot Energy Orbs to gain double the amount. So that's Life Steal, increased energy recovery and solid status tagging. you really can't beat that kind of usefulness, especially when damage isn't a concern.
As usual, if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to leave them.
The music is The Breakdown (instrumental) by Thes One.
