"The Tempest" American Civil War-Set 1998 NBC TV-Movie

TV-Movie adaptation of the William Shakespeare classic play - a magical tale of love, betrayal and freedom - set in the Mississippi bayous during the Civil War. Starring Peter Fonda as Gideon Prosper, a character based on Shakespeare's Prospero. Also starring John Glover, Harold Perrineau Jr., Katherine Heigl and Donzaleigh Abernathy.

The film was broadcast on NBC at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday, December 13, 1998 and filming originally took place at Cypress Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina.
