Using Zoomlock flameless refrigerant fittings on the job today.
This video gives you a quick demonstration of how to connect refrigerant lines for hvac systems without using torches, and having to mess with nitrogen during the brazing process. #Zoomlock fittings give us the capability to make all our connections without worrying about the risk of contaminating the system, or having to have a flame watch or use different heat blocking putties and gels. Which although the latter work great, they always a mess to clean up.
The steps of the process are as follows:
1. Cut your copper
2. Deburr and ream the inside and outer edges with provided rigid reamer
3. Using the Brillo pad, sand in a circular motion on the outside of your pipe.
4. Check for indentations, imprinted letter, or stamped lettering that could compromise the connection
5. Run your finger along the outer surface around the connection, and the edge of the pipe to ensure no sharp surfaces can damage the o ring when you slide the coupling over it.
6. Using the depth gauge, mark your pipe on each side of the connection, where the outer edge of the zoomlock fitting will slide to.
7. Insert the pipe into the coupling, check depth with measurement marking made previous
8. Align the zoomlock jaw with the O ring positioned on the far right indentation in the jaw and the outer edge of the coupling on the far left indentation in the jaw.
9. Activate press cycle with Milwaukee m12 press, hold button until press completes its cycle
That’s it’s!
I’ve posted several links down below where to purchase the RLS jaw kit. It’s compatible with the Milwaukee M12 propress, which we demonstrate use of in the video.
