Aftermath WW1 Layout Pt4 – Donut Humidifiers

These Donut Humidifiers cost only about £2 each from eBay. They plug into a USB connection, and you can buy plug adaptors to plug them in to. They tend to evaporate the water vapour from the water in a dish quite quickly, I think at about a rate of 100ml per hour approx. The water may condense somewhere, and that could be your model, hence the purpose of my test. It showed me that I need to build over the vapour some collapsed building rubble pieces, to help condense some of the water on to those (and drip it back in), and also to lower the rate. I may well only put these on occasionally whilst displaying. But for the cost it was a worth-while experiment.

Safety warning: be careful when using water near electrical things. Do plenty of testing to make sure things are safe and you have confidence in how they will perform.
