Freshman Breanna Gomez Explores Culture and Climate Change Through Art

Double majoring in psychology and art, first-year student Breanna Gomez is able to explore her multi-cultural heritage while at UM. From basket-weaving with her grandmother in the Bahamas at the age of 4, she always knew she wanted to pursue art.

Her painting classes at the College have allowed her to develop her first series, Disappearing Eden, an homage to her beloved Bahamas which is being affected by climate change.
