Mako Jumping! Flying Mako! Maine Shark Fishing!!

We had an early start and headed a few miles down the road to my lifelong friends marina Port Harbor Marine, Spring Point Marina in South Portland, Maine where most of my fishing adventures have started. I personally have shark fished for 30+ years thanks to my good friend Marc Soucy (Owner / Operator at Port Harbor Marine) togther with other lifetime friends we have fished several tournaments and have enjoyed countless great memories on the water.
This trip, however, was all about taking my son out on his first shark fishing trip ever. Capt Jason Eaton and I have been fishing together for 20 years and we arranged to get my son out there to experience shark fishing first hand. Little did we know that my son would hook into a Mako!!!! Although becoming more common in Maine waters it is still considered a rare feat. We did not land the Mako but the aerials displayed by this fish were amazing and it was the first time out of anytime that one of the hooked mako’s was actually captured on camera!!!!
