3D printed Enigma Machine (part 2)
This is the second in a series of videos where I try to build an enigma machine with only an Ender 3 3D printer and pieces I find lying around my shed or can order cheaply online.
In this video I make considerable progress and have created the scrambler (all three rotors and a reflector) as well as the base plate and sides of the scrambler. I discover a few problems with trying to exactly replicate a real enigma and deviate slightly from the designs in order to make the machine more practical to build. When my 3D printer jams up I have to fix it and this delays the creation of the project significantly.
To model the parts I am using FreeCAD:
