A fast-moving wildfire tore through north-west Spokane, Washington, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate as flames spread rapidly through grassland and into residential neighborhoods. The Old Trails Fire, fueled by strong winds and extreme heat, burned approximately 1,000 hectares, crossed the Spokane River, and destroyed multiple structures.
