Are pontoon boats hard to tow?

Ford F-350 Super Duty with the 7.3 liter (7.3L) Godzilla gasser towing our new 21-foot pontoon boat and trailer coming in between 3500 and 4000 lbs. In this tow test experiment, we wanted to see our fuel economy MPG towing this big boat (wide and tall) in tow haul mode. The boat is full of 40 gallons of gas, a cooler of drinks and snacks, our gear (life jackets, Airhead hot dog tubes, equipment, etc.) and we had 4 people and a full tank of gas in the Super Duty crew cab long bed. We have 3.73 gears. After our towing test, we enjoyed an evening on the lake in the new-to-us pontoon boat.
