全球最大貨櫃船「中遠海運恒星輪」首航靠泊香港八號貨櫃碼頭 (2019.09.18)

Beating the world’s largest aircraft carrier by 63 metres, COSCO SHIPPING STAR called at Hong Kong Terminal 8 on 18 September 2019 during her maiden voyage. Being one of the world’s largest container vessels, this mega ship is 400 metres long and can carry 21,237 TEU.

Since it set sail in Shanghai in July, COSCO SHIPPING STAR has joined sister vessel COSCO SHIPPING GALAXY and 9 other mega containerships to operate on OCEAN Alliance’s Asia-North Europe service and call at Hong Kong. So far this year, COSCO SHIPPING has already had 7 new vessels berth at Hong Kong on their maiden voyages. It re-affirms the city’s status as an international shipping hub and a key gateway to Mainland China.

Hong Kong Seaport Alliance (HKSPA), formed by COSCO-HIT Terminals (Hong Kong) Limited, Asia Container Terminals Limited (collectively known as “Hong Kong Terminal 8”), Hongkong International Terminals Limited and Modern Terminals Limited, jointly provides 23 berths and the combined facilities can handle up to eight mega vessels at the same time. It provides the capacity and networking flexibility as well as enhanced services to the customers. At the start of the year, COSCO SHIPPING rated the Port of Hong Kong the world’s ‘Best Transshipment Port’ in a ringing endorsement of its highly efficient and flexible services.

比世界最大的航空母艦還要長63米的「中遠海運恒星輪」於2019年9月18日首航靠泊香港八號貨櫃碼頭。此巨輪全長400米，裝載量為21,237個標準箱，為全球最大貨櫃船之一。

「中遠海運恒星輪」自七月在上海啟航後，隨即與此前交付的姊妹船「中遠海運銀河輪」，以及另外九艘超大型貨櫃船，一同投入海洋聯盟之亞洲至北歐航線，並掛靠香港。今年以來，中遠海運已共有7艘嶄新的超大型貨櫃船首航靠泊香港， 再一次確立香港作為國際航運樞紐和通往中國內地門戶的地位。

由中遠-國際貨櫃碼頭（香港）有限公司、亞洲貨櫃碼頭有限公司 (簡稱「香港八號貨櫃碼頭」)、香港國際貨櫃碼頭有限公司及現代貨箱碼頭有限公司共同成立的「香港海港聯盟」營運23個泊位，以「設施共享」的操作模式，為船公司提供充足的泊位和彈性；並可讓八艘超大型貨櫃船同時靠泊，為客戶提供更優質、更高效的服務。今年初，香港港口榮獲中遠海運評選為「全球表現最佳中轉港」，肯定了香港的高效靈活服務。
