Porsche and Audi's F1 Entry Details Revealed – [Rumour Roundup]

As per reports by news agency Reuters, sources from within Volkswagen have allegedly confirmed the plans of its subsidiaries Audi and Porsche with regards to F1

These alleged sources had the following to say

“We will hopefully be able to communicate our intention to enter into Formula One [at a meeting next week]”

They further added that there is a “good chance" of a positive decision

As for the exact details of their entry, Audi will supposedly look to buy out McLaren

Apparently one source revealed the following

“Audi will offer around 500 million euros ($556.30 million) for McLaren”

This, however, flies in the face of the statement made by Zak Brown some time ago

“We are definitely not for sale”

As for Porsche, they are ostensibly looking to form a long-term partnership with Red Bull possibly as their engine supplier

Allegedly, the focus of the aforementioned meeting where this will be seemingly announced is to discuss ways of improving the brand image of Volkswagen

Reportedly, they are still reeling from the effects of Dieselgate and the current Russia-Ukraine conflict

With Formula 1 planning to use fully synthetic fuels by 2026 and the popularity of the sport, entering F1 is seen as a positive thing for VW's image
