restoration videos pocket made in germany . Hello, Today i'm gonna show you a new restoration video. So welcome to a new restoration inside episode
I got this pocket balance to be restored. It is rusted and also
not used since long time. So follow process while you're restoring old tools step by step
to get similar result.

First step in this project, i used a
a drill to remove the rivets. Therefore
i dismantle the metal sheet from the main
part. After that, i disassemble the part with hook and the two springs

I use a hard metal tube to remove the metal ring
then i used a meetal file and a spot punch to dissemble the last part.
little metal parts was grinded.
Then i used a paint stripper to remove the paint from the main part.
The two springs and the hook and the front part was plugged into white vinegar
during 24 HOURS.
i applied also a primer on the parts that will be painted.
the front main part was sanded and painted with gold paint.
I prepaired rivets to replace the old one
Finally i assembled the different parts and i tested the pocket balance
by weighting a marine outbord.

Tools and restoration hardware used for this project: Drill, screw driver, steel rolled bar, vise,
hammer, center punch, metal file, chisel, pipe plier,
grinder, brush, metal brush, metal centre spot punch and a paint brush.
Consumable material: Paint stripper, white vinegar, steel primer,
sand paper, paint, copper pop rivets.
