With its flowing melodic phrases and delicate ornamentation, Raga Kafi carries a gentle blend of playfulness, devotion, and emotional depth, making it one of the most beloved ragas in light classical music traditions.

In this presentation, Shirish Shah brings out the graceful and emotive character of the THUMRI style while preserving the essence of Hindustani Classical Music through the sitar.

Shirish Shah has been dedicated to the journey of music since 1950 and has learnt under the guidance of several respected gurus and maestros including Ustad Faiyaz Ahmed Khan, Pt. Arvind Parikh, Shri N. R. Rama Rao, Ustad Vilayat Khan, Ustad Dilshad Khan, Begum Parveen Sultana, Ustad Mohammed Ahmed Khan, Laxman Prasad Jain, and Kankana Banerjee.
