Authentic Teochew Duck Kuey Chap @ Air Hitam, Penang 梹城亜依淡橋頭頂鹵鸭粿汁

This stall in Air Hitam Penang is well known for one specialty : authentic Teochew duck kuey chap or duck innards. The stall located in the wet market vicinity has been around for over 42 years and is obviously a hot spot for locals and regulars in this area. The video was shot on a Sunday morning and you can see the crowd of elderly regulars at this market doing their weekend rounds.  So, what's you can expect to find in your bowl of hor fun noodle soup? Firstly, you can order an extra plate of Teochew style duck to accompany the noodles. The noodles will  be served with a sundry of duck innards, including coagulated duck blood, liver and hard-boiled duck egg sprinkled with lots of pepper, spring onions and fried onions. Indeed, every part of the duck is not wasted!  The noodles are drowned in a dark coloured duck stew soup tat has a distinctive ducky aroma.
