👋Hey Swim Buddies I’m Allison Tyson, otherwise known as AlyT the Swim Mechanic 🛠️ in the online Swimming Community. I've been swimming for as long as I have been walking and a qualified swim instructor since 1993.

I grew up at the local pool, the daughter of my home town's (🌺 Cairns, Australia🇦🇺) BEST SWIMMING TEACHER. To this day I LIVE TO SWIM. 💙😍

During Covid, like many places around the world, my local pool was forced to shut down.

It was during the forced closures I decided to write a series of learn-to-swim books for parents and guardians, so that ANYONE, ANYWHERE could use my methods to teach their kids to swim💡.
I decided to start a #SwimmingRevolution with the goal of making QUALITY learn-to-swim lessons AFFORDABLE and ACCESSIBLE to EVERYONE with my books Learn To Swim The Australian Way 🇦🇺

What sets me apart from other swim teachers is my deep understanding of the swimming community, my exceptional feel for the water and my passion for helping others become confident swimmers🎈

I approach swimming and teaching swimming with a unique perspective, having been immersed in the swimming world from a very young age. Not only am I a qualified swim instructor, but I'm also an elite swimmer (sub 1:20) and a bit of a swim geek🤓

I believe that swimming is a life skill that everyone should have the opportunity to learn, regardless of their background or financial situation💸. That's why I write books and create content in a way that any parent / guardian, swimmer, swim teacher, swimming coach can easily understand and follow, without the need for expensive lessons, tutorials or equipment💰.

But my mission goes beyond teaching people to swim. I'm dedicated to creating a movement in which swimming is seen as an inclusive and accessible activity for all. Through my work, I hope to inspire more people to take up swimming, and to show that it's never too late to learn.
